Special Olympics Indiana

Special Olympics Indiana is a Non-Profit organization that provides sport training, fitness activities, and competition programs to individuals with intellectual disabilities, all year around. They are in charge of new athletes recruiting, organizing training programs, raising funds to offset costs, and managing volunteers.
Special Olympics Indiana is seeking for motivated, energetic and committed volunteers who want to help at their 2010 Basketball Tournament. This event will be held in our campus on March 27 and 28, at both North and South gyms of the Arena.
Two staff members from Special Olympics Indiana came to our campus yesterday to give students more information about the organization, and to motivate students to participate as volunteers. I think it is a great opportunity for students like me to make a positive impact in the community, by providing athletes who have intellectual disabilities the opportunity to experience excitement, joy and personal fulfillment. Signing up to volunteer for Special Olympics Indiana is very easy. Here is a link to their website: http://www.soindiana.org/Volunteering/WhatitMeanstoVolunteer/tabid/54/Default.aspx
